Joe Joshin is a recurring minor antagonist in Fleeing the Complex, who appears in the "International Rescue Operative", "The Betrayed" and "Convict Allies" pathways as a supporting antagonist.

Fleeing the Complex

In "International Rescue Operative" and "The Betrayed", he is seen in the cafeteria of The Wall. In these routes Joe can be seen sitting down and having a friendly conversation with Nadya Merakova. His role these routes depends on the option chose.

During "The Betrayed" pathway, Joe is unaware of Henry Stickmin's presence until events unfold. During the Neurotoxin option, he is seen zombified after the poison of the gas gets to him. During the Drill Pod scene, he is one of the two guards seen firing at the Toppats, Ahnoldt Schwarz, Wilhelm Krieghaus and Sureshot Sherman. The other guard being Sal Mann.

During "International Rescue Operative", Willie Wagner warns Joe and the Other Guards nearby that the inmate Henry Stickmin is escaping. In the Bubble Shield option he is armed along with Nadya and Willie ready to fire at Henry as soon as he leaves his bubble however he is seen waiting since Henry won't leave.

In "Convict Allies", he, along with Melvin Poolridge and Ace Apex, corner Henry Stickmin and Ellie Rose in the hallway after the two have freed all the prisoners. To defeat them, Henry and Ellie will need to cooperate using different weapons:

• Grenade + Crossbow - Henry throws out a grenade while Ellie shoots it with an arrow, who hits Ace Ape's face, who jumps towards the convicts in a sacrifice. Joe Joshin reacts surprised.

• Sniper Rifle + Crossbow - Henry jumps and tries to jump and shoot Joe Joshin and the others in a single move, but ends up shooting Ellie instead. If the flavor text is clicked, Joe Joshin's cap gets the Wall logo replaced with the OBEY logo during the MLG sequence.

• Grenade + Taser - Henry throws a grenade electrized by Ellie, but the combination of both creates a huge explosion that kills Joe Joshin and everyone on the room.

• Sniper Rifle + Taser - Ellie tasers Henry, whose electrized shoots Joe and the other guards. With the path clean, Ellie and Herny can proceed their way.

Trivia

• Joe is armed with a Makarov and is seen using it in all the routes he appears in.
• Oddly in the legacy version of the Sniper + Crossbow MLG Replay, there was a mistake where Joe lacked his goatee. This was fixed in the Remastered Version however.
• During the instant replay, Joe Joshin's logo on his hat changed to the OBEY logo.
